Summer Bonanza

Well this was a typical summer for tarpon fishing in the lagoons, hot, slow surface action in general terms except around strong tides and drastic weather changes. What was not typical are the results we achieve on our tarpon trips in the last 3 month. When my competitor are calling 2-4, 3-5 bites on 15-30 pounds tarpon per trip, we average 6-12 bites on 30-70 pound tarpon. My last customer fish 2 3/4 day and jump 28 bites on both trips (Milton Raynolds Sept. 27 & 29) both days were a struggle and nightmare for my competitors action wise.  Since June we land 35 tarpon over 50 pounds. Out of this 35 tarpon 7 of them were 80 pound, 1 90 pound and 3 100 pound. Here is a list of date and name of some of the lucky customes that are on Caribbea Outfitter’s Clubs

This list is only for the last 3 month. On the 80 pound club 3 names are missing but dates are available. For this year the total amount of tarpon on the 100 pound club is 6, the biggest was 130. The reason of this results are a combination of true experience, years of hard work and performing on different techniques and concentrating on catching the biggest fish on the area achieving the maximum amount of bites.

On May we had a very unusual scenario were one lagoon on the system has discompose water after a strong rain. When it stop I decide to hope on my boat with a 8wt fly rod to target tarpon. Make 43 cast had 29 bites fought 11 and landed 2 about 60 pounds, all alone and by my self after a 1/2 jar of sangria yijaaa!!!! Wanna talk about fun!!!! Go figure!!!!

Don’t forget that when you fish on Caribbean Outfitters your get almost two decades on experience, true dedication, and scientific facts of the species we are targeting. We are the rocket scientist of this lagoons, we broke new grounds on the sport fishing in Puerto Rico and we still.  Avoid spend 2 hours of your precious time on a 40 pound tarpon for the same story of the one we lost on 8 pound test. You are not only loosing time but also your money.

Off shore the action has been concentrate on the full moon and new moon phases. The average bite is 2-4 on billfishBlue marlin, white marlin and sailfish will fill our expectation during the fall were there is our best shot at a grand slam. Oct is the first month were we start the mahi-mahi season along with wahoo. From know on we will be fishing on 20 & 30 pound test. Thank you for the support of our customers. If i miss a name on any of the clubs please contact me to publish your information.

NOTE:

Make sure you do your home work before you book your deep sea fishing, ask the person if he still have a capt licence and was not revoke by negligence. If had any casualty or death on he’s charter by flipping hes boat on 15 foot swells. We have one very irresponsible nasty Capt on the hole Island make sure you don’t end up in hes lies and fool so you be safe.

See You Next Tide
