Off Shore

The last 5 month has been one of the best off shore years I ever experience in the last 20. Almost all the boats are encountering some kind of action. We had many days of multiple bill fish bites, like white marlin, blue marlin or sailfish, not all the boats are hooking all 3 species on the same day but many times hooking two out of the 3 species is not a surprised. About mahi-mahi and wahoo fishing our boat is averaging 5-20 bites per 3/4 day or 6 hours trips when we find theme, is best mahi-mahi season ever experience. Our boats are run by some of the most passionate staff there is in the charter business in the Island, this are truly professional who carry pride for their bait rigs, hooks and tackle. We use top quality bait & tackle like small to medium size local vacuum seal ballyhoos, Shimano 20 TLD 2 speed, electric bridge teaser reels, etc. For your comfort we can have 4 people seating right next to the action on our comfortable mezzanine’s located on the First Lady roomier cockpit. Remember avoid San Juan Harbor no wake zone, this area can take 20 minutes each way out plus another 15-20 minutes to the drop off or fishing grounds. Our fleet location can provide great opportunities to target bill fish and tarpon on the same day. Caribbean Outfitters provide a 9 hours combo trip where you can fish the first 3 hours from 6:00-9:00am for tarpon on a Pathfinder 24 and at 9:00 you head off shore for bill fish or mahi-mahi, wahoo action on First Lady, a Bertram 35′ until 3:00pm.

Tarpon….. Yes, ONLY TARPON!

Our tarpon fishing still very steady, on slow days we still average 4-8 bites on 1/2 day or 4 hours and our good days over 15-20 bites. This are not small fish from canals or close to mangrove this full size tarpon. Among our 20-40 pound average tarpon we had few days of big tarpon where Capt. David was able to guide Ross to a 107 pound tarpon and the following week I guide a 103 pound. This last Thursday pm Capt. David land a 70 pound tarpon on 12 pound test and the trip before lost a 80 ponder right on the leader for the photo.
