Hot Marlin Bite

Hi!

Beside happy about the lodge opening, I am very exited to report that our marlin bite in the North Shore San Juan is very hot again this year. First Lady spend 1 month on the yard doing some refit and maintenance on the bottom, anti fowling paint job, new props, all out rig went to machine shop for check up and line up engines, struts, shaft, etc.

Some boats release up to 3 marlin on 3/4 day out of the same marina as we are. Don’t forget we are the closet marina to fishing grounds in PR, no spending 20 minutes each way in the harbour on a no wake zone when you can be fishing for 40 more minutes.

In the lagoons we had some hot days with 4-6 tarpon bites. Fishing peak tides are critical to increase the amount of bites. Mean while we had some 1/2 days with over 15 bites with most fish in the 15-40 pound range. Snooks reports are excellent as well, a lot of boats had over 15 bites of snooks in 1/2 day. I personally guide a 1/2 day where we land 17 snooks and 4 tarpon.

We are approaching the season for our combo trips where you can target tarpon, snooks and jack the first 3 hours and the following 6 hours on deep sea fishing for blue marlin, mahi-mahi, white marlin, wahoo, sailfish and tuna. Our best month for the fiasco is from mid Sept-Dec.
