Very Steady

                                              FREE TRANSPORTATION!!

Hi!!!

The tarpon action in the lagoons sistem next to the airport is world wide competitive. We have since Feb a incredible steady bite.

From March 14 to March 21 both boats, Tarpon Sniper & Mantis fish 8 mornings and manage to jumped 187  tarpons between 25-60 pounds.

On April 7 Capt. David had 21 tarpons bites land 6, average size 30-80 pounds.

April 11 I guided a long time costomer (17 years fishing with us) The Calderazo Fam. We jumped 22 tarpons, landed 6 and one snook.

Last Saturday Capt. David had 14 tarpon bites, landed 7 all over 45 pounds were the biggest was 88. This are indisputable way above numbers than other boats fishing the area, size and bite number along with consistency.

On Caribbean Outfitters we contribute on the catch of over 1/2 dozen tarpons over 100 pound since Feb or our last report.  Here are few pics, hope you enjoy them!!!!

On deep sea fishing after one of the worst mahi- mahi season I ever experience finally have very good news. Almost every charter and private boats fishing from 2 to 6 mile from the shore are getting a steady bite of blue marlin and white marlin as well. Some nice size wahoos has been report as well on the North Shore San Juan. First Lady with Capt. Angel Rodriguez on the weel already have one 3/4 day with 2 blue marlin on the boat and 4 out 5 time the First Lady staff are having some kind of billfish action.

In order to provide a better service and make your fishing trip more relax Caribbean Outfitters just add a ATV (Angler Transportation Vehicle) to provide FREE TRANSPORTATION ON THE METRO AREA.   Here are some pics of our van were you will be pick up at the door of your hotel by one of Caribbean Outfitters staff. No worries of driver getting lost early morning, rip off or loosing some of your personal items if are left on the taxi. All our staff is fully and fluid English speaking.

Thank you for your time!

Bussy Fishing

Hi Readers:

The fishing in the lagoons for tarpon has produced some intense action. In a period of 2 1/2 week for tarpon fishing we achieved 203 tarpon bites were most of them were 15 to 30 pounds with a good number of 60+ pounders landed. This action is not under mangrove branches were you average 3-8 pound tarpon and in numbers that can make any young kid feel like a pro. This is the time of the year were we fish some intense incoming tides on full moon periods matching early night to midnight. This combination can produce up 12 bites of 50-100+ pound tarpon. These strong incoming tides not only produce big tarpon but up to 30 pound snooks as well. Congratulations to Capt. Juan Torruella and Luis Falcon on this 25 pound snook on board Mantis.  On June 26, Caribbean Outfitters was booked for a tarpon tournament along with the other 2 active tarpon charter services in the lagoons area. Our two boats finished with winning positions, 1rst place Tarpon Sniper and 3rd place Mantis on the second place was Borinken Fishing Charter, there was no room for “wanna be”. This tournament was for the first 3 biggest tarpon. If you would like to book us for our next October tarpon tournament please contact us for a winning position.

At offshore the marlin and tuna action is very competitive. Capt. Juan and Capt. David achieved 34 tunas on 3 1/2 days on green water close to the 100 fathom line. Today we went just for blue marlin on a hot bite were Big Kahuna raised 5 blue marlin, Blue shadow raised 2 and First Lady landed a 275 pound blue marlin. Almost every boat fishing today in the north shore San Juan were able to raise at least one blue marlin. We are still open for the International Billfish Tournament in San Juan.

We will have top notch billfish action for blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish all the way until December. Increasing whities and sails from late October to December.

Thank you all for your support.

Christmas Gift

This last month the tarpon fishing has average 4 to 10 bites per 1/2 day and average size of tarpon are 10 to 40 pound. One of the morning produce over 30 bites of small tarpon on 8 pound and it was a ball. Bigger tarpon has been spot and we had some mornings with some big tarpon action and we had a combination of small fish with big ones. From this month until late March we can have some cold front aproaching the Island bringing some drastic changes on weather and barometric pressure which can trigger our tarpon to eat on frenzies and very steady for one or two days non stop. Most of this tarpon when they get trigger by weather are big tarpon, but some time very large amount of small fish get together and eat for long periods of time when this event happen. This was the month were Capt. Juan Torrouella and I land 47 tarpon in one day of fishing.

What happen off shore is nothing but a Christmas gift were I already forgot when was the last time I went out on First Lady and not raise a sailfish, is INCREDIBLE for our water. I my 18 years as a professional sportfisherman I had never experience a sailfish season like this year. Every year is getting better and better  for the last 3 years but his season if some body has not land at least 5 sailfish is because there is no hook in the water. Most boats out there are raising between 2 to 12 sailfish per day. I personally had two 1/2 day with 6 bites of sailfish and the average is 2 to 4 per 3/4 day.  This action is combine with mahi-mahi, blue marlinwahoo and some tuna. In the last two full moon some of my friend on recreational boats has land blue marlin and some of this action was on multiple bites like double headers.

This last weekend I experience some of the lowest act on the business. A gentleman aproach a concierge desk and ask for my service and my name and the person on the desk refer the customer to another charter company and was basically with no other option and push to go with a non request company. The same day after the trip the customer call me and inform the uncomfort after were refer to my service threw a friend of his that fish with me before. The reason not to use my service was that ”I was a good fisherman but I don’t have fishing license and or permit to operate and the local authorities know about this matters”. THIS IS BULLSHIT and I can give names of charters that are use at some of the concierge and they don’t have any permit. I AM SORRY ABOUT MY FRENCH  but I am on fire with this cowards and that’s the reason why I am posting the permits for each of my boats. Know I dare all charters company to do the same on their web page and find a better way to find customers.  This acts are not from all the concierge but looks like there is some that practice this coward acts. Merry Christmas and happy new year.
