Capt. Omar learned from the renown Sandy Moret Fly Fishing School in the Florida Keys. On the field Captain Omar Orraca has proven to stand up with the best, winning some of the most prestigious tournaments on the island like:

             *1995 Caribbean Inter-club Cup at Cangrejos Yacht Club

              *2001 All Day All Night Tarpon Challenge/ most release

              *2002 Ultra Light Tarpon Challenger/ biggest fish

These achievements and an now an average of 500 guided trips a year are the perfect combination for a life-time experience. Additionally Capt. Omar has logged over 3000 fishing trips and has logged over 9000 Tarpon caught! and is the only full-time professional backcountry charter guide in Puerto Rico's San Juan area.

1997 Time Period = 6 months (July to December) Fishing trips = 98, No catch trips = 3

1999, December = 47 tarpon! and 1 snook caught all in one day of fishing by two anglers as seen in "Sport Fishing Magazine March 2000 issue, I.G.F.A Report".

Unforgettable fishing action will be on-board a NEW 24ft. Pathfinder fishing boat with a 225 HP Yamaha 4-Stroke engine. The boat is located in Cangrejos Yacht Club in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Caribbean Outfitters is the top outfitted fishing charter in Puerto Rico; Shimano,  Stella, Thunnus and Stradic reels and graphite rods are provided to fish with live bait, cut bait and plugs (everything included). SAGE rods, Tibor reels and a selection of Rainey's flies are provided for the fly fisherman. All fishing tackle is rigged under I.G.F.A. regulations including Seaguar Fluorocarbon  leaders and Owner Hooks. Caribbean Outfitters offers the newest, biggest and most fully rigged Tarpon fishing boat in San Juan. With Tarpon available all year long and the best big fish action being from October to May you can expect 5 to 25 strikes a day, catching between 1 and 10 fish all in LESS THAN 4 HOURS of fishing. The average fish weighs 30 lbs. and many fish weigh between 60 lbs. and 120 lbs. The action is excellent with spinning gear rigged with 8 to 20 lb. test Sufix fishing line. All fishing tackle is highly maintained.

If one Angler on the boat or the Captain does not have a Tarpon bite the booking client will have $50.00 credit from the total price. This policy applies for morning trips only. Do not apply on fly fishing trips.

 

A half day trip includes:

Tackle, live or cut bait, water, soda, dry storage and Captain.
