Fishing Tips
The following
fishing information is provided by Capt. Omar
Orraca for those who may want to bring some of their own fishing equipment. REMEMBER a
guided trip includes everything. |
SPIN Fishing
- Strong fishing rod with a heavy backbone
- 8# to 20# test line depending on targeted fish
- Imitation Bait: Imitating Sand Perch, Mullet, Anchovies, Pilchards, Sardines, Greenies
and Threadfin Minnows
- Other Lures: top water plugs
- D.O.A. fishing lures
- leader 50# to 100#

FLY Fishing
- Fly rod size: 6 WT to 10 WT
- Fly line: intermediate or monocord
- Tips: Floating and Sinking tips

Clothes and Gear
- Shorts, fishing pants or pants with zip-off pant legs
- Comfortable "boat friendly" shoes
- Short sleeve shirts or long sleeve for sun protection, light in color, vented fishing
shirts are most comfortable

- Sunglasses, polarized preferred
- Sunscreen; spray or roll-on is easiest
- Raingear; noninsulated shell
- Camera
- Snacks; fruit, energy bar, sandwich

In addition to photographing your catch you will have the opportunity to see
huge Iguanas roaming the banks and sunning in the trees. You will also have the
opportunity to see a variety of lizards, birds, crabs, and you may hear the famous frog of
Puerto Rico (Coqui) sing it's song throughout the peaceful lagoon. |
